Waste & Recycling Driver

Location: Chessington World of Adventures, Surrey KT9 2NE

Hours: Full time & part time, fully flexible. Fixed term contract to November 2023. Working weekends and bank holidays as required. Working hours 10:00am to 19:00pm.

About the Role
Main duties will be general collection of waste & recycling bins from waste areas and taking these to dedicated recycling areas.

Transport cardboard bails, WEEE cage’s paint coffin’s & bulky items from waste areas to our dedicated waste recycling area.

You will be responsible for driving company vehicles to collect full bins & replace them with empty ones. With over 20 different waste streams here at Chessington, it will be the responsibility of the Waste & Recycling team to ensure all waste streams are sorted in the correct manner.

You will also be working in different areas around the resort, this will include working in our own recycling compound, collecting waste such as WEEE waste, bulky items, engineering, and facilities waste etc. When working in our Waste & Recycling compound you will be responsible for loading skips in a safe manner and sorting out bulky waste items, and ensure all areas are always kept at a high standard and enforcing Health & Safety policies & procedures.

You will also need to support with keeping on top of our food, glass & clinical waste bins as well, making sure these waste streams are ready for collection. You will also be trained to use general waste compactors, cardboard bailers etc. All PPE and training will be given.

Due to the nature of this role, applicants must be aged 18 and over, hold a full UK Drivers Licence and Forklift Licence.

About You
Our ideal candidate will have a passion for providing excellent guest service. You will need to be a good teammate & communicator as well as proactive and hardworking to succeed in this hands-on role. The ability to tackle responsibility and work on your own initiative is a must.
