Smith & Associates, insurance staff counsel for State Farm Insurance Companies, is hiring a rising 3L Summer Law Intern (Class of 2025) who will have exposure to legal research and litigation practice with our state-wide team. The candidate selected for this position will be located in our Orlando, Florida or Fort Lauderdale, Florida claim litigation office. The internship strives to provide a balanced and realistic representation of the function of Claims Litigation Counsel, as well as real-world exposure to a multitude of legal services being provided. The selected individual will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with attorneys on assigned projects, observe every phase of litigation, and will have a designated mentor throughout the internship. The internship has a full-time schedule in the summer beginning Monday, May 20, 2024, through Friday, August 2, 2024, with the potential to transition to a part-time schedule during the 2024/2025 school year. The selected intern will be paid $28/hour and operate in a hybrid environment (combination of in-office and remote). The Summer Intern selected will also receive a $2,000 Intern Stipend. The ideal candidate should possess excellent organization skills, an energetic/positive attitude, legal research knowledge, and the ability to work well under deadlines in a fast-paced working environment. The Florida PIP Team enjoys an active, busy civil litigation practice. Our team is unique as we have attorneys and staff located throughout the state of Florida. We provide a congenial, team-oriented, professional work environment with skilled support staff. Orlando Location: 390 N Orange Avenue, Suite 1700, Orlando, FL 32801 Fort Lauderdale Location: 110 S.
