      Our research and development division is currently recruiting for a summer intern within Global Scientific Content. The Global Scientific Content organization is committed to ensure creation of global, innovative medical content to advance scientific exchange with “One Medical Voice”.

      The goal of the internship is to work with the Global Scientific Content organization to provide hands-on experience in the development and communication of scientific content in collaboration with key stakeholders. Candidates will learn how Global Scientific Content works to communicate the clinical and medical value our products bring to the medical community and patients. This experience can motivate students to pursue careers in pharmaceutical industry.

      Responsibilities and Primary Activities:

      Global Scientific Content Development

      • With guidance by preceptor, candidate authors content and gains exposure in working with external vendors to develop Global Scientific content that aligns to Annual Global Scientific Content Plan(s)

      • Reviews Global Scientific Content materials to ensure they are relevant, scientifically accurate, and consistent with cited appropriate scientific literature, internal scientific information, and Company values and standards

      • Ensures appropriate stakeholders are engaged in the development, review, and approval of Global Scientific Content materials

      • Communicates to key stakeholders (e.g., Medical Information) Global Scientific Content-approved content

      Cross-Functional Collaboration

      • With guidance by preceptor, connects with key stakeholders (e.g., Global Medical Information, Global Scientific Training, Scientific Affairs, Publications, Medical Science Liaisons, Compliance, Clinical, Center of Observational and Real-World Evidence Value Evidence Sub Team (CORE-VEST)) to learn more about the cross-functional collaboration between functional areas in the pharmaceutical industry

      Training and Professional Development

      • Under guidance of preceptor, completes myLearnings and self-training materials for personal development

      Education:

      • Required: Candidates must be currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in the sciences or a related field, including biology.

      • Candidates must be returning to school in the Fall of 2024.

      Required Experience:

      • Candidates must be available to work full-time for 9-12 weeks beginning in June 2024.

      • Candidates must have experience conducting literature searches and using published literature in support of scientific content development.

      • Candidates must have a basic understanding of biomedical sciences, including the ability to categorize scientific literature according to therapeutic areas and topics.

      • Candidates must have excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

      • Candidates must have outstanding ability to organize information, multi-task, and manage one’s own time.

      • Candidates must have some experience creating presentations.

      • Knowledge of Microsoft office, specifically Word, Excel and/or PowerPoint are required.

      Preferred Experience:

      • Candidate pursuing an advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD).

      • This position would best suit someone with a background and/or interest in microbiology, virology, immunology, cardiovascular or oncology.

      • Knowledge of the Pharmaceutical industry.

      • Strong analytical skills.

      • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a complex organization/environment.

      • Ability to effectively operate in a team-oriented structure.
