Thomson Reuters participates in the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium), which creates the standards for the web, including accessibility standards. The Accessibility team participates in the WCAG working group (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines), which is part of the W3C.About the Role:
As a Accessibility Tester, you will:
• Contribute to the end-to-end quality assurance of a large product portfolio, including overseeing the backlog of testing requests received and complete testing requests.
• Collaborate and communicate closely with key stakeholders in Design, Product Management, and Product Engineering to facilitate testing efforts throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with the Testing Lead to guarantee on-time completion, precision, and alignment with expectations for all testing requests.
• Act as a thought leader in accessibility testing by making recommendations and influencing testing decisions based on data.
• Mentor accessibility testers.
• Contribute to creating test plans and scripts and other accessibility testing documentation.
• Partner with the Accessibility Test Lead to create training plans and execute accessibility training for the testing team.
• Perform quality audits and advise on opportunities to minimize quality errors.
• Demonstrate proficiency in products of high complexity with an ability to operate independently without extensive direction.
• Lead by example in creating a positive, supportive team environment that encourages collaboration, innovation and respectful discussion.
• Ensure that the Thomson Reuter’s accessibility policy and guidelines are followed.
• Stay abreast of evolving accessibility standards and trends in the industry.
• Continuously develop skills and knowledge in the field of accessibility testing.
About You:You're a fit for the role of Senior Accessibility Tester if you have:
• BA/BS in information science, information design, computer science, related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• 4+ years of testing experience in software development, web development or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in an accessibility related field.
• Understanding of WCAG 2.1 (AA) guidelines.
• Expert level understanding of assistive technologies and accessibility-related software including JAWS® and NVDA and automated testing tools.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar for logging and tracking bugs.
• Demonstrated success facilitating testing efforts across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated success creating test plans and scripts.
• Ability to influence and define process.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience interfacing with high level stakeholders.
• Strong ability to influence and be able to effectively deal with ambiguous situations and make decisions.#LI-HS1
