      The Global Advertising and Brand Management (GABM) organization has a mission to create marketplace demand and drive commerce for American Express through differentiated and innovative products, partnerships, marketing, and customer experiences.
      OnBrand, the American Express in-house creative agency, has the ambition to become the internal creative partner of choice by building seamless customer experiences for our Business Units, driving results, and unlocking value for the enterprise.       The Account Director will report to the Vice President of Account Management. OnBrand is American Express’ In-House Creative agency, our agency is on journey for an exciting expansion. Our ambition is “Become creative partner-of-choice to build seamless customer experiences for our Business Units, essential for driving results and unlocking value through deeper knowledge of our business powered by industry-defining creative excellence ”. We are focused on developing forward thinking ideas and work across channels, end-to-end experiences in digital and beyond.

      To be successful in this role, the candidate must exhibit outstanding judgment and will lead the account planning, identifying , developing, and maintaining relationships with key Marketing decision-makers. As the senior point of contact for our lead business unit marketers, the account director will also coordinate with the creative services and project management teams to service projects, build strategic operational plans and balance the expectations of clients with the execution of creative work. The candidate must have experience working with senior level clients, strategy, creative and project management teams and guiding the team to achieve the highest possible standards.

      This individual will focus on enabling strategic and creative elements of the agency, but also playing a critical role to attract, retain and develop best-in-industry agency talent and build a culture delivering transformative work

      Day to day responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

      • Develop, sustain, and function as the key strategic business partner to key senior level business unit marketing partners fostering relationships to grow business, anticipate demand, and drive results
      • Own business unit marketing strategy and deliverables: understands client business goals, requests and ensures creative output aligns with business needs, while managing financial health and bottom line
      • Work closely with creative strategy and creative leads to identify portfolio opportunities for OnBrand growth, driving close partnership with marketers, and ensuring trusted relationships by delivering strategic business partnership and work that are of a high quality on time and within budget
      • Develop a clear view of pipeline while managing current business portfolios with performative impact
      • Collaborate with other discipline leads to identify organic growth opportunities for OnBrand
      • Lead presentations with senior stakeholders (internally and externally)
      • Manage, mentor, and lead account team while being a key cross-functional partner

      Minimum Qualifications:

      • 10 + years of experience in account management, client service or other relevant management role at a leading external or in-house creative agency
      • Has exceptional client service skills, with an ability to partner with and influence both senior and day-to-day clients
      • Has experience navigating complex organizations to build consensus and resolve competing priorities.
      • Has the ability to independently lead and make decisions that balance the needs of the client with internal goals and teams
      • Ability to understand digital platforms and advertising brief asks by channel, with vision towards output required to meet client needs

      Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits

      Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for this position.
