      How you’ll contribute:
      As a Reinsurance Accountant you’ll be supporting Brighthouse Financial reinsurance subsidiaries accounting and reporting functions. Coordinating with team for successful completion of monthly close, analysis, journal entries, reinsurance settlements and models, reconciliations, review/preparation of the financial statements and participation in unit projects to maintain and improve business continuity. Working with reporting requirements and guidelines of applicable regulatory agencies to maintain records and prepare required financial reports.

      In this role, you’ll get to:

      • Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end regulatory reporting, financial statements, disclosures and related information for STAT requirements
      • Prepare monthly reinsurance settlements and models
      • Complete monthly/quarterly reconciliations
      • Research variances and reviews monthly/quarterly analytics
      • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end regulatory reporting, financial statements and related information
      • Interaction and coordination with the lines of business, administrative areas and actuaries in carrying out assigned financial reporting responsibilities
      • Responsible for assigned process improvements, ongoing initiatives and projects and communication with management on progress of such items
      • Perform other related duties as assigned or required

      We’re looking for people who have:

      • BS/BA in accounting or finance
      • 3-5 or more years experience in financial accounting and reporting
      • Insurance experience preferred
      • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
      • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
      • Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently
      • Knowledge of statutory and GAAP accounting practices/procedures
      • Highly proficient in Excel and must be able to learn other systems used quickly as the projects will require a lot of research and analysis

      • Compensation – Base salary ranging from $70,000 - $90,000 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results.
