What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Process and audit accounting documents to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Manage accounts payable by coding and entering payment documents
- Coordinate and distribute training materials and essential information to staff
- Resolve vendor account issues professionally and efficiently
- Establish and maintain filing systems for both computerized and manual records

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate's Degree in Accounting or a closely related field
- At least one (1) year of accounting or auditing experience, or a combination of three (3) years of education and responsible accounting/auditing experience
- Knowledge of general accounting principles and office methods
- Proficiency in creating spreadsheets and managing data
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with State of Maine accounting processes and software programs, such as Advantage, Analytics, and MainePays
- Previous experience in a government or public sector accounting role
