Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the reinsurance system, products and cede rules and understand impacts on cession statements
Ensure an accurate and timely client reporting including cession reporting and all aspects of collateral management
Work with the business and IT on changes to clients/contract
Understand and facilitate the integration of business processes, people, and relevant technology, in order to identify, configure, and communicate useful information, and to provide practical business leadership to drive business decision making across the company.
Collaborates with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives
Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine client transactions
Work with the Director to ensure a clean and timely quarterly and year end audit
Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
Work on recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching and counseling employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures
Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff
Support Director with special projects and workflow process improvements.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
Ensure compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
A minimum of 5 years of prior supervisory experience in operations and client facing reporting
Overview of Position
The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to reinsurance operations and client reporting. This position will be responsible for reinsurance system updates, working with the business on changes to contracts/clients, overseeing client reporting to ensure timely and accurate reporting and exceptional client service. The Accounting Manager supervises staff both on and offshore and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of operational activities including cession statement reporting and collateral management activities, system maintenance and projects focused on creating operational efficiencies. The Accounting Manager will have contact with senior and product line management which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.

Pay Range:
$86,000.00 - $143,700.00Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
