      SUMMARY
      The Accounting Manager is responsible for day-to-day accounting operations of the company, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and adhering to a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. The Accounting Manager manages the work of accountants and is responsible for the oversight of various accounting functions, including coordinating the month-end closing process and ensuring the timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations.

      Compensation:
      Towne Park is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location. The annual base pay range for this position is $100,000.00-$120,000.00

      Additional Compensation: Employees may be eligible to receive annual incentive bonuses depending on their job classification and the policy guidelines.

      Benefits: Employees are eligible to enroll in medical, dental, and vision insurance, accident insurance, critical illness insurance, hospital indemnity insurance, and telemedicine benefits. Employees are provided company-paid basic life and AD&D insurance as well as short-term and long-term disability. Employees are also able to enroll in the company’s 401k retirement savings plan.

      Paid Time Off: Employees accrue 0.0385 hours of PTO per hour worked up to a maximum of 80 hours per calendar year. Employees receive 6 paid holidays throughout the calendar year and employees accrue up to a maximum of 4 paid floating holidays per calendar year.

      Descriptive Statement(s)

      Manages and coordinates various workflows within the accounting department including accounts payable and accounts receivable and ensuring transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP. Directs and coordinates the work flow of the accounting department, including month-end closing processes, and reconciliations of various systems.

      Reviews and approves journal entries and month end close work papers in accordance with company policies and procedures for areas including cash, prepaids, accruals, and other miscellaneous asset and liability accounts.

      Serves as liaison to operation management, assisting them with accounting related issues and inquiries. Assigns balance sheet account reconciliation responsibilities, review and complete reconciliations and oversees research to clear reconciling differences in a timely manner.

      Maintains and updates records within the accounting system, including communication with Members of the IT department to ensure function and access. Ad-hoc reporting and providing assistance for various projects from the Director of Accounting and Controller, including potential acquisitions and year-end audit.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      Education:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

      Required Licensure, Certification, etc.:

      • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred

      Work Experience:

      • At least two (2) years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
      • At least (5) years’ experience in accounting.

      Knowledge:

      • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP)
      • Must have strong knowledge of general ledger and information systems, preferably with system enhancement and conversion experience.

      Skills:

      • Apply general accounting theory and procedures to day-to-day processes.
        • Reporting to the Director of Accounting, lead a team of one staff accountant and two senior accountants by setting goals and expectations, monitoring, and providing oversight.
      • Coordinate and ensure timely and accurate completion of balance sheet account reconciliations.
      • Manage the month-end close process.
      • Prepare and complete ad-hoc projects as requested by Management.
      • Ability to work in a fast paced environment adhering to strict deadlines.
      • Ability to present new ideas such as process improvements and departmental collaboration.
      • Ability to maintain confidential information.
      • Strong analytical skills and problem solving ability.
        • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) and various accounting and other technology applications.
      • Written and verbal communication skills to effectively address all levels within the organization.
        • Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in dealing with matters of significance for the company.
        • Ability to represent the company effectively in a variety of settings with a demonstrated understanding and appreciation for diverse cultures.
        • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business policies, procedures, equipment manuals, training materials, and corporate communications.
        • Ability to compose professional internal and external business communications including reports, memos, letters, and e-mails.

      SCOPE

      Authority to Act:

      • Performs duties with little direction given, operating from established directions and instructions. Decisions are made within general Town Parke policy constraints but occasionally require independent decision making and management.

      Working Environment

      The majority of work will be performed in climate-controlled environment, but may be exposed to inclement weather and varying degrees of temperatures on occasion.

      Travel may be required, but not expected under the role.
