We are seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist with software proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and Google Sheets to support our CFO and accounting operations. This contract position requires a detail-oriented professional who can hit the ground running with minimal supervision. This position is expected to be long-term, with 30 hours a week starting.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions
- Processes and reconciles financial transactions with high accuracy
- Maintains detailed digital financial records
- Prepares and reviews financial reports
- Assists with monthly close and year-end tax preparation procedures and audits
- Assists in optimizing existing QuickBooks processes and procedures
- Creates and maintains advanced spreadsheet systems in Google Sheets for financial tracking and reporting
- Makes recommendations and assists in the implementation of automated solutions for routine accounting tasks and reporting
Core Requirements & Qualifications
- This position requires candidates to be located in the US and legally authorized to work in the US.
- 3-5 years of proven accounting experience
- Associate's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Advanced proficiency in both QBD (desktop) required and QBO (online) platforms
- Expert-level skills in Google Sheets and Excel, including the creation of advanced formulas
- Proficient in other Google Suite applications
- Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices consistent with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Ability to quickly adapt to new software platforms and versions
- Strong data entry and word processing skills
- Accurate and precise attention to detail
- Ability to pivot to new priorities when needed and/or assigned by CFO or other leadership
