What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Direct and coordinate the work of accounting personnel, providing technical instruction and guidance
- Resolve complex problems requiring considerable judgment and creativity while coaching staff on problem-solving
- Review and inspect work in progress, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions and reporting
- Establish and maintain work standards, policies, and procedures in line with the Arizona Management System (AMS)
- Document complex workflows and suggest improvements to enhance operational efficiency

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or a closely related field
- Minimum of one year of experience as an Accounting Supervisor
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and government accounting practices
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage time and prioritize workloads effectively

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with government accounting
- Advanced degree in accounting or finance
- Familiarity with automated accounting systems
- Experience in financial analysis and reporting
