- Responsible for answering customer service primary phone line to assist customer in obtaining accurate information and results to the inquiry.
- Provide exceptional customer service with internal and external customers inclusive of referencing available training and providing ‘on-the-job’ training when necessary.
- Under the guidance of supervisor or Accounts Payable Manager, assist with testing existing processes or developing new process improvements to ensure exceptional service to the global community.
- Assist with email inquiries received via the primary listservs for Accounts Payable and Payroll.
- Log internal customer service tickets in a service ticketing system and assign accordingly for timely response to the customer.
- Attends internal trainings with other sections of Accounts Payable to ensure knowledge and understanding of internal processes to provide exceptional customer service.
- Works closely with vendors and campus departments regarding payment inquiries and ensure discrepancies are identified and update the Accounts Payable or Payroll unit for appropriate action.
- Updates various spreadsheets for tracking, reporting and reconciliation of returned W-2 or 1099 taxation documents for appropriate action required.
- Assist with daily check printing, sealing and reconciliation of check distribution and ensuring checks are mailed timely with daily check runs.
- Assist with the opening and distribution of incoming mail received to include scanning and storing appropriately.
- Under the guidance of the supervisor or Accounts Payable Manager assists with identifying issues related to outstanding invoices, credits, and unpaid balances and takes the appropriate actions to resolve.

- Excellent organization and time management skills
- HS Diploma and increasingly responsible office/clerical experience and 3 years of relevant work experience, which includes six months in a directly related function, or any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
- Working experience in payment policies and procedures.
- Data entry experience and experience maintaining attention to detail and comfortable with repetitive work assignments.
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 including Word, Excel, and TEAMS.
- Associates degree in Accounting, Business, Public Administration, or a related function which includes accounting course work AND one year progressively responsible experience in a directly related function;OR
- Three years progressively responsible experience in a directly related function which includes a broad exposure to all areas of accounts payable and accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Experience with University of Arizona systems such as UAccess Financials, UAccess Employee, and UAccess Analytics, including knowledge of university policies and procedures.

Financial Services seeks a full time Accounts Payable Specialist II to perform the daily activities and functions of the Accounts Payable, Travel and PCard area to ensure compliance and integrity of the Financial Services unit. The primary function of this incumbent will be Accounts Payable with the secondary in Payroll Services. This position requires a conscientious individual who displays a high degree of professionalism and integrity and possesses skills in setting priorities while managing a wide variety of assignments with minimal supervision.
This position will allow for flexible/hybrid work arrangements within Arizona.
