Job Description

- Uses multiple accounting/database computer systems to review, analyze, research, obtain approvals, code, and data enter submissions into proper accounting periods for all types of operational expenses and medical claims for both domestic and international entities in an accurate and timely manner according to established procedures and policies
- Matches invoices to purchase orders and receiving entries utilizing a computerized ERP system; resolving issues as needed
- Interacts with and responds to queries and requests via phone, email, and other correspondence from suppliers, coworkers, and other on- and off-site stakeholders regarding account and payment status or other related issues; creating written communications using applications such as Word and Outlook
- Imports and resolves exceptions for data from electronic invoice transmissions (EDI)
- Reviews, researches, and reconciles supplier account status requests and account statements; identifying and resolving exceptions and variances; identifying trends and issues for resolution
- Processes system generated payments for multiple payment methods; including check, EFT, Commercial Card, and foreign and USD currency wires
- Updates, maintains, and generates reporting utilizing database programs such as Excel spreadsheets
- Conducts testing for operational software systems as enhancements or changes to the software are made
- Trains coworkers on the process and policies of the payables function
- Audits entries processed by peers and communicates findings for correction
- Participates in related tasks and projects as assigned
- Oracle ERP, including invoice to purchase order matching, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Diverse experience with functional components of standard accounts payable processes
- Excellent problem solving skills, analytical ability, and verbal/written communication skills.
- Intermediate experience in Word/Excel
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Excellent customer service skills, strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Associate degree in accounting or related business program, or certification in medical terminology, claims coding, or accounts payable. Upon evaluation, two or more years of related experience may be substituted for the degree or certification
- Two years’ experience in a medical claims or accounts payable processing position that included performance of audit, research, coding, and data entry using a computerized accounting/database system. The completion of a related degree or certification program in accounting or business may be substituted for the required experience

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for a variety of processing functions in the area of accounts payable for a multi- company organization involving auditing, coding, and data entry of operational invoices and medical claims; researching and responding to supplier requests, and resolving and documenting invoice and payment issues and resolutions. Responsibilities also include providing insight, recommendations on procedural and systems functions, and training coworkers on the process and policies of the payables function.
