- Develops and maintains a viable Advanced Career Training and Other Training Programs in conjunction with Pima Community College or other accredited programs.
- Establishes center-specific criteria and procedures for student’ participation in the Advanced Career Training / Other Training Programs.
- Maintains linkages with Pima Community College’s Admissions, Financial Aid, Career Counseling and Placement offices.
- Develops “Memorandum of Understanding” with Pima Community College or other partners outlining all aspects of participation in the Advanced Career Training Program.
- Oversees 10-15 student participants in Advanced Career Training and Other Training Programs (OTP).
- Collaborates with the Case Management Team’s (CMTs) to ensure ACT / OTP success.
- Introduces the ACT / OTP program during Career Preparation Phase to provide additional options for students to pursue in Career Technical Training.
- Develops processes for enrollment and funding into Pima Community College
- Provides ACT / OTP classes and workshops to include: What is ACT / OTP, Preparedness, Center Expectations regarding student participation and success.
- Ensures that established Advanced Career Training Programs and Other Training Programs (OTP) maintain eligibility criteria that will lead to the positive success of students participating in the Program.
- Monitors ACT / OTP student’s progress, performance and grades acquired during participation in ACT / OTP Programs.
- Ensures that students’ accountability information is submitted accurately and within established time frames.
- Submits leaves and leave extension requests as necessary and in a timely manner.
- E nsures all areas of ACT and OTP TARs are completed in proper fashion.
- Updates Student Career Plan and CIS case notes monthly and as needed.
- Participates in ESP panels and submits Student Performance Evaluation Reports (SPERs) for ACT / OTP program participants, as required. Prepares student to transition successfully out of the ACT / OTP Program, once completed.
- Provides support to ACT / OTP students by arranging transportation including use of bus passes, as required.
- Meets with ACT / OTP students a minimum of once every 15 days.
- Facilitates ACT / OTP students’ participation in the Student Satisfaction Survey. Acts as a liaison between Center and PCC sites on student behalf.
- Develops a process and holds students accountable for notifying the class Instructor or OTP administrator in case of a student’s absence.
- Ensures students have access to meals when participating in the ACT / OTP Program.
- Maintains required reporting, documentation and record keeping. Maintains an ACT / OTP file on each and every student.
- Prepares a monthly report of student progress and performance and submits in a timely manner to Career Technical Training Supervisor.
- Prepares a weekly ACT / OTP status report to distribute to Center personnel to include information such as: Who is on ACT / OTP, campuses and/or sites utilized, transportation requirements and number of weeks remaining in semester or training process.
- Inputs ACT / OTP hours and other information into CIS. Prepares evaluations and participates in ESP panels.
- Ensures that students complete a Q2 and Q4 survey upon exit from the Job Corps Program.
- Develops employer linkages to hire graduates and place assignees in direct employment opportunities prior to separation or completion of Job Corps Program.
- Utilizes Job Corps guidelines and subject coursework in the development of Other Training Programs (OTPs).
- Has an accurate syllabus for the Advanced Career Training and Other Training Programs coursework. Identifies appropriate materials needed for class enrollment and participation.
- Schedules study and tutoring sessions, workshops and other special projects to augment coursework/training.
- Coaches graduates on transition into employment, additional schooling and/or military placement.
- Maintains assessment and placement plan for each assigned graduate. Identifies, locates, and makes referrals to transitional support services necessary for successful placement and retention
- High School Diploma or equivalent plus 1-2 years Administrative Support experience.
- Valid MI, driver’s license with a clean driving record
- CPR certification will be provided upon hire

Reports To: Career Technical Training Supervisor
The Advanced Career Training (ACT) / Other Training Program (OTP) Coordinator position provides support for a U.S Department of Labor Job Corps contractor. The Job Corps program is a federally-funded residential training program. The mission of Job Corps is to provide career-ready technical and academic training and job placement assistance to program eligible youth ages 16-24.
Summary of Duties: Promotes, develops, maintains and enhances Advanced Career Training (Mechatronics) and Other T raining Programs (OTP) within the community to offer students alternative opportunities to those Career Technical Training programs (found on Center).
