      We're looking for an Actuarial Model Developer to be part of our Model Delivery Squad within Actuarial at Direct Line Group. Reporting to our Head of Model Delivery, you’ll support and maintain the actuarial modelling systems including some aspects of development and process including data procurement, modelling, analysis, reporting and controls.

      Our customers and shareholders rely on DLG effectively managing its insurance liabilities and risk, and you’ll be part of a team of problem solvers and the very best minds who leave no stone unturned in achieving modelling excellence.

      What we’re looking for:

      We’re looking for someone with knowledge of general insurance, and actuarial modelling (gained through work experience or studies) to join us as an Actuarial Model Developer on a permanent basis.

      You'll have great analysis skills and with an interest in data science, actuarial or statistics, ideally with some experience of building MI dashboards and using written programming languages such as SAS, R or Python.

      You’ll be passionate about modelling development, data science and machine learning techniques, and have a vision for innovation and the implementation of new technology to achieve great results.

      We need someone who is a driven self-starter, but who can also collaborate as a valued team member - able to build great relationships and encourage knowledge sharing.

      What you’ll be doing:

      • Develop and maintain Psicle for reserving, IFRS, Solvency II, and Tyche for our internal capital model.
      • Enhance MI quality, manage competing MI/data requests, and deliver tasks and projects in a timely and accurate manner, providing insights and recommendations.
      • Assist in maintaining modelling systems, supporting the Head of Model Delivery, and ensuring all controls are documented.
      • Support report development using visualization tools like Tableau and provide analytical insights for business decisions.
      • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, challenge current processes, and suggest recommendations for enhancing DLG’s Reserving and Capital Modelling capability.
      • Monitor model effectiveness, suggest areas for development, and develop knowledge of reserving and capital modelling systems and processes.
