      Job Description

      Ensures optimal delivery of acupuncture services to inpatients and outpatients, staff and caregivers. Provides direct intervention utilizing acupuncture therapies, as required.

      Job Responsibility

      • Makes diagnoses and determines treatment strategies.
      • Meets with patients to obtain information about their symptoms and medical history.
      • Provides acupuncture sessions; evaluates treatment outcomes and maintain patient records.
      • Explains procedures to patients and prepares them for treatment.
      • Assists in the coordination of clinical schedules and client flow.
      • Liaises with medical staff on the role of acupuncture for patients and staff.
      • Provides in-services to medical staff groups, in conjunction with integrative medicine coordinator.
      • Participates in hospital committees and meetings as requested.

      Job Qualification

      • Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
      • Current License to practice as an Acupuncturist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
      • 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
