- To support the team, including clinical with administrative duties.
- To provide a friendly and effective service to patients who visit the clinic.
- To ensure a high standard of administrative service is consistently delivered by undertaking all required tasks and activities on a daily basis.
- To reconcile clinic outcome forms in the agreed timeframe.
- To utilise the required technology / hospital systems including Big Hand / Evolve / Careflow / Intouch and any other new technology or system(s) that are introduced and support other team members to do so to deliver an efficient administrative service.
- To undertake responsibility for the generic email system ensuring that these are dealt with in a timely manner.
- To audio type clinic letters where required.
- GCSE or equivalent, English and Maths (2)
- GCSE or equivalent, other subject (1)
- Previous admin experience (2)
- Evidence of working as part of a team (2)
- Previous Hospital System and RTT experience (2)
- Ability to work well under pressure and to strict deadlines.

Job summary
We are currently recruiting for a dynamic and flexible admin support worker who will work on the reception and can assist with typing where required. The role is based at Colchester Hospital and you will be working within a very demanding but rewarding environment and will need to be flexible.
Providing the best service to our patients is vital and you will therefore need to be passionate about patient care and customer service. The role will consist of assisting the ENT secretarial team by monitoring the shared ENT inbox and diverting emails to the correct person within the department, checking patients into their appointments and ensuring the appointments are outcomed correctly, carrying out pre-operative telephone calls to patients 3 days ahead of surgery, along with other tasks you will need to complete on a daily basis. You will also be required to assist the Oral Surgery secretarial team for a set amount of time each week.
You willhave previous experience working in a customer facing environment preferably within the NHS and will possess good organisational and communication skills in order to liaise with various areas internally and external to the Trust.
