      MWR Academy Cadet Activity Fund

      DUTIES :

      Working under the guidance of the Cadet Activities Fund (CAF) Manager and in conjunction with the Echo Company Officer, this position serves as the Tide Rips Yearbook advisor and is a year-round position funded by the CAF program. The position serves as the central point of contact for all matters relating to the day-to-day operations of the publication and is responsible for the oversight, logistics, production, publication, budget, and coordination of all yearbook activities and deadlines.

      Oversight of cadet editor and 25-member cadet yearbook staff from Echo Company. Coordinates with Company officer and Editor the training, team building, and division of labor among cadet volunteer staff. Supervise cadet staff to ensure deadlines are met and production is on schedule. Coordinate with cadet staff to establish deadlines for proof-reading of all pages before final submission.

      Provides quality assurance and accountability for yearbook creative design and content. Proof-reads and edits all pages for correctness / appropriateness and final review and approval before submission to publisher.

      Manages the Tide Rips budget and obtains approval from CAF Manager for additions to the yearbook above the base contract with the publisher. Act as liaison between Academy administration, staff, Alumni and cadet staff; ensuring periodic meetings with Cadet Activities Fund Manager for Tide Rips progress updates.

      Facilitates interaction with Academy entities to obtain pictures, statements, text, and support for yearbook production.

      Communicates with Photography and Advertising third-party service providers to assure quality/timeliness of contracted services. Interfaces with other service academy and/or college yearbook staffs for benchmarking.

      Submits articles for CGA Alumni Bulletin on Tide Rips process and sales.

      Performs related work as assigned.

      QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :

      Minimum :

      1. Two years of experience in office administration.

      2. Demonstrated leadership skills.

      3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

      4. Proficiency in computerized desktop publishing, Microsoft Word and Excel.

      Preferred (in addition to the minimum):

      1. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent related experience substitute on a year per year basis.

      2. Prior yearbook experience
