- Recruit prospective students to meet enrollment objectives from an assigned territory.
- Represent the university at high school visits and college fairs.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with high school counselors.
- Review and render admission decisions for applications on a rolling basis throughout the recruitment cycle.
- Present estimated and official financial aid awards to students and parents to ensure they understand the award and their financial responsibility.
- Conduct campus visit appointments with prospective students and their families.
- Present in front of small and large groups of students, families, and/or high school counselors.
- Participate in undergraduate admission-sponsored events on-campus, off-campus, and virtually.
- Irregular work hours, including nights and weekends, may be required to meet prospective students or during on- and off-campus recruitment events.
- Frequent travel within a designated region is required, particularly in the fall and spring.
- Perform other duties as requested, delegated, or assigned.
- Strong organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to think critically and solve problems.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Effective use of technology to communicate with students and maintain an actionable database.
- A valid driver’s license or alternate means of reliable transportation is required.
- Lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
- Previous admission, higher education, and/or sales experience preferred.
- Knowledge and appreciation of Dominican University’s programs and offerings.
- Those considered for the title of Assistant Director, two or more successful years working in admission.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Slate CRM, and Jenzabar EX preferred.

Their primary focus is to build strong relationships with prospective students and their families, high schools, and college counselors from an assigned recruitment territory and to collaborate with other members of the Dominican University to achieve the goals of the university. As a member of the Undergraduate Admission staff, the Admission Counselor/Assistant Director will participate in new student recruitment activities on and off campus for the Office of Undergraduate Admission.The Office of Undergraduate serves an important role at Dominican University.
