      Job Description

      Coordinates the flow of patients being admitted to the facility. Performs diversified coordinative and clerical duties supporting the functional and/or operational needs of the department

      Job Responsibility

      • Coordinates the flow of patients being admitted to the facility; assesses and intervenes when delays are identified related to admission paperwork, bed turnover and patient transport.
      • Greets patients and/or visitors to the department in a courteous manner.
      • Interviews residents/significant others to obtain all relevant demographic and insurance data; obtains necessary signatures on required forms; enters all pre-admission and admission information into department computer system.
      • Provides interpretation of regulations to residents (i.e., visiting hours, resident services, Bill of Rights, etc.).
      • Ensures completed charts accompany patients upon admission.
      • Serves as a liaison between admitting, nursing stations, patient transport, and medical records to facilitate optimal patient flow.
      • Responds to patient/family complaints as they relate to the admissions and discharge processes.
      • Analyzes, recommends, implements and monitors approved work-flow changes.
      • Participates in developing and delivering training related to operations.

      Job Qualification

      • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
      • 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
