Communicates directly with the Admissions Coordinator to ensure all aspects of the preadmission process are completed timely.
Processes referrals and coordinates admissions of all patients in an efficient, responsive manner.
Coordinates the flow of information through the intake process and forwards to appropriate departments for the successful completion of admissions.
Collects and records all information necessary for admitting patients.
Completes insurance verification forms with benefit and billing information.
Contact patient’s insurance to confirm and determine amount of coverage and benefits, deductible due, length of stay and if pre-certification is required.
Communicates admission status and coordinates all aspects of IP/OP rehab admission.
Keeps records of all referrals, admissions and denials and the reason for denial.
Meets with Supervisor (Admissions Coordinator) on a regular basis to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas and/or improving services.
Maintains open communication with CEO, DBD, CTO, Liaisons and Clinical Team to ensure teamwork, cooperation and mutual respect.
High school diploma or GED certification required. College Degree preferred.
Two (2) years’ experience in admissions/health-related field preferred
Experience in Inpatient Rehabilitation preferred.
Strong knowledge and understanding of Medicare, Managed Care, HMO/PPO plans and authorization/referral requirements.
Ability to understand medical terminology.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties.
Excellent organizational skills.
Uses computer proficiently.
Speaks and communicates English effectively, both in verbal and written format.

As the Admission Liaison at Accel Rehabilitation Hospital of Plano in Plano, TX assists the Admissions Coordinator in validating and entering patient information and insurance coverage into the appropriate computer systems. Duties may also include communicating with liaisons, physician offices, insurance carriers, and patient follow-ups. The Admission Liaison will also assist in the coordination of an effective, efficient intake process for all inpatients and outpatients by receiving referrals, gathering, and recording pertinent information, verifying insurance/payor benefits, obtaining preauthorization and completing necessary procedures to schedule and admit patients.
