      BRANCH: Maring-Hunt Library

      JOB TYPE: Full-time (40 hours/week), hourly, nonexempt

      PAY RATE: Minimum of $15.75/hour

      POSITION PURPOSE

      To assist Supervisor with effective operation of the Adult Services Department.


      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Research and respond to customer queries by utilizing the multiple resources of the Library to obtain correct information
      • Provide Readers Advisory Services and train public on use of library resources and available technology, both individually and in group settings
      • Assist Department Supervisor with collection development and maintenance
      • Plan, promote, and host adult programs and participate in community outreach events
      • Monitor the physical environment, interpret library policies and safety procedures, and exercise judgement to provide effective library service

      Requirements

      EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

      REQUIRED:

      • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
      • Ability to obtain an LC4 or higher certification, which requires completing 15 hours of library science courses (IAC 5-1-8)

      Preferred:

      • Some library work experience
