      Job summary

      To be a qualified Nurse or AHP Advanced Practitioner to work as part of the Emergency Department team to provide expert autonomous care and management of those attending all areas of the Emergency Department including the Urgent Care Centre and SDEC.

      Main duties of the job

      To make complex, autonomous decisions utilising expert practice and knowledge. To request and interpret laboratory and radiological investigation which are condition appropriate. To promote, implement and evaluate evidence-based practice.

      The practitioner will participate in the provision of specialist education, training programmes and clinical leadership within the Emergency Department. They will collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary team to develop and review medical and nursing protocols, guidelines and pathways within emergency care. This role will see the ACP working across adult and paediatric emergency care areas, which will include SDEC.
