Job summary

Due to the retirement of the current postholder, we are seeking to appoint an experienced Haemostasis Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
The Truro Haemophilia Centre is an accredited Haemophilia Treatment Centre and the service is based within a large Malignant and non Malignant Haematology Service, with 8 Haematology Consultants, 2 of whom have a specific interest in Haemostasis and Thrombosis. The Truro Haemophilia Centre enjoys a good working relationship with the Bristol CCC. We work closely with the Haematology Trials Team at the Royal Cornwall Hospital to actively recruit patients to a range of Haemostasis trials.
This is an exciting clinical opportunity for a nurse with appropriate experience and skills to support and develop the Haemostasis services within the Royal Cornwall Hospital. A band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist and a Band 6 Haemostasis Nurse also support the service.
The postholder will be supported and encouraged to attend national and international meetings to further develop their role and understanding of the changing needs of patients.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be an autonomous practitioner making clinical decisions using complex information, utilising prescribing and clinical examination skills. The postholder will be expected to manage non complex haemostasis patients independently and lead nurse led clinics.
Support clinical staff on the wards and be an expert resource for safe patient management.
Working off site to support and manage patient conditions.
Support and Lead on service provision and change.

You will be fundamental in further developing the service to meet the needs of the local population, and of the frequent visitors to Cornwall who may also need to use our services. This will include change management skills in line with local and national directives.

You will need the clinical knowledge and skills to work alongside junior and senior medical staff and provide leadership through education, research and quality improvement projects.
Applicants must have evidence of qualification/s in advanced practice and be a NMP prescriber. You should be interested in training and sharing skills and have a willingness to learn and develop personally and professionally, as well as the experience and capability necessary to lead and develop a team.
