      Main duties of the job

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Conduct patient consultations, assessments, and clinical examinations.
      • Diagnose and manage acute and long-term conditions.
      • Prescribe medications independently and manage patient treatment plans.
      • Provide expert advice, health promotion, and disease prevention support.
      • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient outcomes.
      • Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration.
      • MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent qualification.
      • Independent Prescriber (V300).
      • Experience in primary care or urgent care settings.
      • Ability to work autonomously and within a team.

      Primary Care Knowsley is a healthcare organisation based in Knowsley, dedicated to delivering and supporting high-quality primary care services across the borough. It is a GP Federation, meaning it is a collaboration of multiple general practices working together to improve patient care, streamline services, and support local health priorities.

      • The successful candidate will be a registered nurse with current NMC registration and will hold a Masters level qualification in Advanced Clinical Practice (or be working towards this), along with an independent prescribing qualification (V300)

      • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Nurse.
      • Masters degree in Advanced Clinical Practice (or equivalent postgraduate qualification in an advanced practice pathway).
      • Independent and Supplementary Prescribing qualification (V300).
      • Significant post-registration clinical experience in a relevant setting (e.g., primary care, urgent care, community services).
      • Demonstrated ability to assess, diagnose, treat and manage patients with a range of acute, chronic, and complex conditions.
      • Advanced clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
      • Ability to work autonomously within scope of practice.
      • Strong understanding of evidence-based practice, clinical governance, and current NHS policies and guidelines.
      • Confident in prescribing safely and appropriately in line with national standards.
      • Competent in ordering, interpreting and acting on diagnostic tests (e.g. bloods, ECGs, X-rays).
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of staff and patient populations.
