Position Summary
• Responsible for patient care within the medical group under the supervision of an attending physician.Education
• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from a CAHEA accredited program
• Master’s Degree in Advanced Practice Nursing Studies from a CCNEA accredited program.Licenses and Certification
• Current Illinois Licensed Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse
• Current NCCPA certificate as a Physician Assistant or AACC certificate as an Advanced Practice Nurse or MEAC certificate as a Certified Professional Midwife
• Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse practitioner-controlled substance licensureExperience
• Technical Experience: 3 yearsRole Specific Responsibilities
• Responsible for patient care under the supervision of an attending physician.
struct patients and significant others as appropriate.-Orders, collects, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient needs.
-Participates in service line planning and coordination.
-Counsel and instruct patients and significant others as appropriate.
-Prescribes and/or recommends therapies as indicated in accordance with approved protocols/policies.
-Formulates and implements outcomes-based treatment plans based on assessments, evidence-based medicine, standard professional practice guidelines and in collaboration with physicians and other interdisciplinary team members when appropriate.
-Performs procedures specific to scope of practice and knowledge of the provider as delegated by supervising Physician.
-Act as a liaison between healthcare providers, the patient, family, and payers.
-Continuously build and maintain referral relationships with all medical staff.
-Assures the department/clinic meets professional and regulatory standards.
-Provides timely response to physician and patient correspondence.
-Responsible for accurately completing records, daily quality assurance and improvement information, meeting regulatory standards. Obtains and documents patient history information.
-Completes education necessary to maintain licensure or certification required for position.
-Communicates with team members by regular participation in staff meetings.
Implements care/service that recognizes age/diversity specific needs/issues of customers served.
Compensation (Commensurate with experience):
