      JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

      The Department of Political Science is seeking applications for part-time instructors who can teach online upper-level courses on the legal process and constitutional law.

      Instructors are expected to administer pre-prepared course content and effectively guide student’s asynchronous learning. This requires regular engagement with students both individually and as a group: communicating about and clarifying course material; evaluating student work and providing regular feedback; guiding and participating in online class discussions; and holding virtual office hours as needed.

      Qualified applicants will have a Ph.D. or have reached the ABD level in a PhD program in which they are currently enrolled.

      Applicants should submit a current CV; a brief statement of interest; and the names of three references who can address their teaching skills.

      Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
