AltaGas - Sr. Business Analyst, Operations Planning and Analysis

Reporting to the Senior Director, Operations Planning and Analysis, as the Senior Business Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of Midstream's Operations group spending. You will work closely with the Midstream Finance Team and the Engineering and Operations teams to optimize business processes and support investment and capital planning. You will leverage your analytical skills to assess operations key performance metrics, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to enhance operational efficiency.

Overall, your role will be crucial in optimizing operations, reducing costs, and driving business outcomes for the Midstream Division.

You will:

• Improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of Midstream Operations and Engineering teams.
• Optimize Operations business processes and financial analysis in collaboration with the Midstream Finance, Commercial, and Operations teams. Support the implementation of Integrated Business Planning at AltaGas.
• Analyze operational data and identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
• Utilize financial models and analysis to support investment decision-making and budget planning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvements and implement best practices
• Monitor operational performance metrics, identify trends, and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.
• Support the evaluation of business development opportunities to extract value.
• Ensure accuracy in processes for communicating, evaluating, and storing operations cost information.
• KPI tracking, preparation and distribution of reports related to operating cost and G&A by assets and teams.
• Foster a high-performance culture, promoting collaboration and knowledge-sharing

You have:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
• Strong understanding of operations, including rail, freight management, carrier selection, and routing optimization
• Proficiency in data analysis, statistical modelling, and financial analysis
• Experience in developing and implementing cost-reduction strategies and process improvements
• Experience in all facets of operations pricing, including equipment, pricing based on commodities, cost drivers, permits, tariffs, rules, and regulations
• Strong understanding of commercial value drivers
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Proven track record of delivering results and driving continuous improvement
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
