What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Coordinate referral orders for specialty services and diagnostic testing within a primary care practice
- Schedule and manage appointments for incoming referrals to specialty physician services
- Act as a liaison between patients, providers, and departments for referral and follow-up needs
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for services prior to appointments
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT codes while managing referrals

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must reside in Tucson or the surrounding areas
- Previous experience in a healthcare-related position, preferably in referral coordination
- Familiarity with medical terminology and coding (ICD-10 and CPT codes)
- Ability to prioritize tasks within established guidelines with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare professionals

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous knowledge of managed care concepts
- Additional education or experience related to healthcare administration or referral management
- Familiarity with insurance regulations and payor sources
- Experience working in a multispecialty practice environment
