      Job Description

      What is the opportunity?

      Within RBC Investor Services (“IS”), the Market Services unit is responsible for providing Foreign Exchange, Securities Lending and Cash services to clients. The role of the Analyst, FX Trading is responsible for the market execution of the FX flow from Client Dealing desks that arise from custody related activity. The Analyst is to support the FX Trading team with achieving PnL targets, managing risk and liquidity.

      What will you do?

      • Support the FX Trading desk revenue targets while adhering to all applicable risk and compliance requirements
      • Responsible for the pricing, positioning, and handling of all foreign exchange requests received including spot, forward and onshore EM from client dealing desks of RBC IS
      • Ability to resolve issues that arise from dealing quickly and efficiently
      • Build spreadsheet pricing models, working at an advanced level with Excel including external data streams
      • Develop and maintain professional relationships with external counterparties.
      • Proactively identify operational risk/control deficiencies in the business and proposing a solution to resolve the matter
      • Responsible for building and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders necessary to successfully navigate the role including, but not limited to Market Services, Product Control, Credit Risk, GRM, T&O, Business Development, Compliance, Finance
      • The role is situated on the trading floor, where the work environment is high-pressure, face-paced and deadline-driven
      • Work environment with varied hours and at-times long during peak periods
      • Frequent requirement to deal with issues outside of usual time zones

      What do you need to succeed?

      Must-have

      • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Math or related field preferred but all backgrounds encouraged to apply
      • Knowledge of general capital markets and demonstrated interest in macro market events
      • Advanced MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills are required
      • Experience with financial modeling, VBA or other programming language is highly desired.
      • Ability to understand and react to market information quickly to assess market impacts
      • Strong quantitative and analytical skills - able to analyze numbers very well
      • Overall positive attitude with a willingness to perform beyond what is being asked

      Nice to have

      • Working towards CFA or similar professional qualifications from a recognized industry body
      • Familiarity with Bloomberg or other market trading platforms
      • Previous experience working in FX or a trade floor environment
