Our portfolio includes targeted streaming services AMC+, Acorn TV, Shudder, Sundance Now, ALLBLK and HIDIVE; cable networks AMC, BBC AMERICA, IFC, Sundance TV and WE tv; and film distribution labels IFC Films and RLJE Films. The company also operates AMC Studios, our in-house studio, production, and distribution operation behind acclaimed and fan-favorite originals including The Walking Dead Universe and the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, and AMC Networks International, our international programming business.

      We are currently seeking a Research Analyst to join our research team based in our New York, New York headquarters.

      JOB SUMMARY

      The Estimating team is responsible for helping to optimize the company's revenue streams both linearly and digitally, estimating and tracking factors that affect future income and providing strategic insight and support in decision-making processes.

      The analyst will work closely with the research team and Director of Audience Estimating to collect and maintain performance data in support of the department’s needs. We are looking for a curious and energetic individual with strong critical thinking skills to join the team. This role offers a great opportunity to learn about the business and gain hands-on experience in media research.

      JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Produce various tracking, trending, and competitive performance reports.
      • Maintain and update current schedules in the proprietary estimating system across the 5 linear networks.
      • Input program names on a regular basis using Nielsen systems.
      • Prepare dashboards with visualizations and KPI tracking where needed.
      • Lead small strategic meetings using data to guide recommended strategic insights.
      • Read, summarize, and distribute landscape learnings from various sources.
      • Work with Scheduling, on-air promotion, and Pricing & Inventory departments to make sure that estimates are prepared and provided in the right format promptly when changes occur.
      • Record and track all estimate changes and update ad sales, finance, programming, and all teams that use the estimates with regular reporting.

      QUALIFICATIONS (Required & Preferred)

      • Bachelor’s degree
      • 1-2 years of relevant work experience
      • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) a plus.
      • Successful candidates ideally would have a strong ability to focus on the details of data/organization, time management, and strong mathematical thinking
      • Good understanding of and interest in the media industry and feel comfortable working in a business with a rapid pace of change.
      • Candidate must have a team-oriented mindset, and engage/participate in research projects to promote research led thinking company wide
      • Passion for analytics and finding insights.
      • Ability to multitask and operate in a fast-paced environment.
      • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills are essential.
      • Creativity and design aptitude a plus.
      • Advanced Excel Skills a must (comfortable with pivot tables, vlookups, macros, etc.)
      • Must be comfortable developing and analyzing large, complex data sets to distill actionable insights. Experience with data analysis tools beyond Excel a must (R, Python, STATA, etc.)

      The base compensation range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000 commensurate with experience.
