Position InformationPosition Title Anatomy Educator Position Number 5408 FTE 1.00 Division College of Medicine Department 711000 - Medical Education Posting Detail InformationPosition Details Medical Educator with Expertise in Human AnatomyThe University of South Alabama Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine is seeking a full-time medical science educator with expertise in teaching human anatomical sciences, for appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate Professor, or Professor.Minimum Qualifications:· Ph.D., M.D./D.O., or equivalent terminal degree in the biomedical sciences· Evidence of substantial formal training in human anatomyPreferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants with one or more of the following additional attributes:· Experience in teaching clinically-integrated anatomy or other anatomical sciences (embryology, gross anatomy, histology, neuroanatomy)· Formal training or experience in educational theory, instructional design, and/or evaluation and assessment· A track record of scholarship related to biomedical or educational sciences· Experience with computer, virtual, or simulation-based instructionPhysician candidates applying must be Board Certified (ABMS recognized), must qualify for an unrestricted Alabama Medical License, and must agree to obtain an unrestricted Alabama Medical License within 2 years of employment.The Whiddon College of Medicine is part of the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama.
