- Directs and manages a team of Territory Managers in multiple territories to achieve/exceed sales and profit goals.
- Responsible for the overall performance outcomes of Territory Managers, ensuring they are trained and fully prepared with the requisite selling skills, knowledge of the products and expertise within the relative therapeutic area(s).
- Ensures the timely and accurate flow of information between the field and the Corporate Office.
- Working in coordination with the Sales Director and Human Resources, is responsible for the sourcing, interviewing, hiring, orienting and training of new Territory Managers in the Division/Region.
- Sets individual sales goals and development plans with each Territory Manager in the Region. Utilizes the CRM system and other data sources to monitor sales performance. Provides on-going coaching, feedback and periodic performance reviews to Territory Managers.
- Supports the Sales Director in the creation of sales forecasts, budgets, and overall sales and marketing strategies for the Animal Health Division.
- Inspires trust, confidence and team unity while demonstrating and promoting a high level of optimistic energy within the sales team.
- Provides training and coaching to new Territory Managers, including frequent co-selling calls to ensure representatives are fully prepared with both product knowledge and selling techniques. Ensures Territory Managers represent the Animal Health Division in a professional manner when in front of customers and opinion leaders.
- Provides periodic training and coaching to optimize Territory Manager product knowledge and selling skills. Maintains consistent contact with each Territory Manager thru territory field rides, and one-on-one weekly telephone calls.
- Conducts regular conference calls to ensure effective and efficient communications to and from the Field and the Corporate Office, as well as discuss sales strategies and share best practices and new ideas.
- Perform any other tasks/duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor's Degree in health sciences or related field strongly preferred, or equivalent pharmaceutical sales experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of pharmaceuticals or medical device sales management experience required, animal health experience preferred.
- Strong sales management skills with proven leadership and business analytic abilities.
- Ability to hire and develop a cohesive and motivated direct sales team.
- Ability to get along well with diverse personalities, while demonstrating tactfulness, maturity, flexibility and emotional intelligence.

- Travel up to 70% required; Regional Sales Manager must be flexible to attend national or regional events that could require attendance on the weekend.

Nature and Scope
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) position is field based with leadership responsibilities of 8 to 10 Territory Managers focused on selling Animal Health products to veterinarians. The RSM is responsible for leading the team to achieve established revenue and profit goals while effectively managing expenses. The RSM participates in national and local strategic meetings, as well as leads meetings with their respective teams.

Expected Salary Range:
$138,800- $155,500
