What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist in implementing the Animal Health Surveillance Program, monitoring daily animal health
- Ensure compliance with USDA, IACUC, and AAALAC policies and regulations
- Provide first-line basic care, feeding, and husbandry for research animals
- Manage multiple projects and work assignments simultaneously
- Exhibit independent judgment in problem resolution and decision-making

What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School education or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a veterinary surgery clinic and/or laboratory animal setting
- Familiarity with current federal laws and regulations regarding animal care and use
- Ability to interact with individuals from diverse cultures and educational backgrounds
- Highly organized and detail-oriented

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences
- Experience with a variety of species in an AAALAC Accredited Animal Care and Use Program or USDA licensed facility
- Certification as AALAS Laboratory Animal Technician (RLAT)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Word, and Outlook
