APPLE Technician
The Ambulatory Pharmacy Patient Liaison Empowerment position is responsible for overseeing the discharge process of patients at high risk for being readmitted. Areas of expertise include, but are not limited to the 340B program, reimbursement of third party payers for outpatient medication prescriptions, and medication prior approval processes. The APPLE position will address many front-end activities and tasks to enhance a smooth transition for patients from the inpatient to the outpatient setting and to ensure medication access with the ultimate goal of avoiding a 30-day readmission.
Qualifications
Education:
Certified pharmacy technician (required); Associates or Bachelor College degree (preferred)
Licensing/Certifications :
New York State Pharmacy Technician License required
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
Experience:
Two years experience of working in a community pharmacy and dealing directly with reimbursement from third party payers, including prior authorization; one year experience of working in a hospital setting and being familiar with the inpatient and outpatient workflows; fluent in oral and written Spanish; strong oral and written communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office
