Application Lab Technician at Givaudan – Your future position?

Are you interested in the world of fragrance? As an Application Lab Technician in our Fragrance & Beauty Division in Shanghai, you will become a bridge between perfumers and evaluator and consumers through application samples, support and assist them in conveying their creativity to more customers . Correct samples are a crucial step in developing a new fragrance and this position holds much potential for a career in this unique industry. You will need to demonstrate an ability to prioritise fundamental sampling procedures – weighing, mixing, packaging, and cleaning – and carry out the sampling process in an optimal, efficient and cost-effective way. Sound intriguing? It could well be your perfect opportunity if you have a passion for fragrance development and a good sense of colour and odour. Typically, your responsibilities in this role will include:

• Making Application Samples: You will blend base and fragrance through specific processes according to the project and internal and external client requirements, and deliver samples to the requester accurately and on time.
• Base and packaging, quantity and quality checks: Real-time confirmation of the base and packaging to ensure that the samples we deliver meet the quality and client requirements

• Safety and housekeeping: ensure strict compliance to all safety norms and practices, neat and tidy maintenance of the laboratory and equipment, help create a safe work culture, and ensure strict confidentiality practices with regards to our project’s top-secret formulas.

Your professional profile includes:

• A university degree with a science background (chemistry-related would be a plus)
• Good knowledge and experience of laboratory work (recent graduate acceptable)
• Able to work with constant smell of fragrance (no allergy to chemicals and no chronic sinusitis)
• The ability to read and write in English, and communicate fluently in English will be a plus
• Be familiar with the operation of computer and office software.
