      The Civil Construction Apprenticeship is the ideal opportunity for the right candidate to take the first steps to a successful and fulfilling career with a recognised industry leader. Combine your studies with work experience to build the perfect foundation for your career, all while receiving professional and financial support in a paid role.
      You’ll have the opportunity to work across our Construction, Roads and Roadside & Drainage teams. Working alongside experts in their field who are passionate about their work, you will gain experience in new Projects, Rehabilitation projects and maintenance, including road construction and maintenance, drainage construction and maintenance, concreting, road furniture and asphalting.

      During your apprenticeship you’ll learn to operate basic plant and equipment and have exposure to a variety of general manual labour activities. Your on-the-job training will allow you to develop the skills to confidently perform the full scope of duties of a Civil Construction Labourer. You'll start your career by rotating across all 3 Council depots located at Raymond Terrace and Nelson Bay.

      These are the perks

      • Base Salary Range: $46,726 - $59,787.52 (T4-T7) pa based on a 38 hour week + 11.5% superannuation + $2,312 retention allowance
      • Under 18 year old's: $34,740 - $41,041 (T2-T3)
      • Full payment of course fees
      • Study leave to complete course requirements
      • The opportunity to participate in networking events where you can socialise with PSC's Apprentices, Cadets and Trainees in order to develop your own professional and social networks
