What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Monitor claim statuses and maintain records in the system daily for commercial insurance billing
- Ensure timely collection of outstanding accounts receivable and resolve billing issues for submitted claims
- Review EOBs and assist in verifying patient coverage and billing inquiries
- Conduct outbound calls to insurance companies and patients to reconcile account issues and balances
- Facilitate appeals to insurance companies for higher payments and manage correspondence for claim processing
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or equivalent; college education preferred
- 1-3 years of experience with receivables/collections in a healthcare setting
- Strong telephonic communication skills
- Must be detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with billing systems and software specific to healthcare collections
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle difficult conversations
- Familiarity with appeals processes and regulations in billing
- Bilingual abilities are a plus
