Job Description

This is a hybrid working role, therefore your time will primarily be split between working from home and the London/Bracknell Head Office. However, there will also be an expectation to visit other locations as the need arises. The role could be based at either our Bracknell or London campus, depending on your preference. If based in London, the normal place of work for this role is Victoria, London pending the relocation of the London office to Pimlico during the summer of 2024 after which the normal place of work will become Pimlico, London. Please be aware that due to the travel requirements for this role, a full UK driving license is required.
The salary range for this role is set at £43,700 - £65,500. Please note that we are seeking candidates with salary expectations between £43,700 - £50,000 for this role.
This position is a permanent contract.
Please note, internally this role is known as ‘Architect, L7’.
? - Hybrid Working

About the role
Are you looking for a creative Architect role with a focus on technical design excellence and innovation? Join us at John Lewis Partnership as we build the strategy for delivering top-notch architectural solutions in our buildings and external environments.
As part of the team, you will play a key role in supporting the Senior Architect in supervising both internal and external teams to ensure the delivery of commercially viable designs. Your contributions will be instrumental in maintaining consistent performance and service delivery by our external architects and design consultants.
In this position, you will be involved in creating and updating design standards while ensuring timely and cost-efficient solutions that align with the business goals. Your support will also be essential in obtaining town planning approvals efficiently through architectural design solutions.
If you are enthusiastic about sustainable design practices, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to our Carbon plan targets by minimising our environmental impact. Additionally, you will have the chance to grow both personally and professionally through the Property Shared Capability.

Essential skills you’ll need
● Industry-recognised architectural qualification RIBA Pt I & Pt II, with recent or upcoming progression into Part III
● Pre-qualification professional experience in architecture or a related discipline
● Use and application of architectural and 3D modelling software AutoCAD, REVIT
● Experience in design, fit-out, construction and awareness of cost control principles
● Good communication and facilitation skills
● Full UK driving licence
Desirable
● Relevant degree and corporate membership of an appropriate Institution
● Retail experience in architectural delivery
