What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide legal services and representation to the Legislature, Governor, state agencies, and District Attorneys
- Enforce consumer protection laws and address unfair and deceptive business practices
- Conduct investigations and file lawsuits to ensure compliance with consumer protection laws
- Prepare and draft legal documents, including complaints, pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Negotiate with opposing counsel and engage in court proceedings
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must be a member in good standing with the Wisconsin State Bar upon appointment
- Professional litigation experience, including preparing legal documents and conducting discovery
- Experience handling motion hearings and preparing witness testimony
- Proven ability to negotiate effectively with opposing counsel
- Experience in complex civil litigation, particularly in consumer protection or antitrust matters
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience investigating and building cases for civil law enforcement actions or criminal prosecutions
- Experience serving as lead counsel in state and/or federal court
- Background in handling labor violations, class actions, or intellectual property cases
