Overview

We are seeking kindhearted and energetic Assistant Caregivers who have a genuine desire to help seniors. The purpose of this position is to provide a broad range of support services to our Assisted Living residents.

Responsibilities

• Follow the directions of the Assisted Living Manager. Take additional direction/coaching from Caregivers on duty at any given time.
• Complete daily work assignments as given by the Assisted Living Manager.
• Perform light housekeeping for residents as necessary.
• Perform laundry services for residents as directed.
• Report any issues with residents or fellow employees to the Assisted Living Manager.
• Ability to work harmoniously with peers, and to deal respectfully with residents, their family members and visitors.
• Ability to read and interpret written procedures and directions.
• Ability to lift, bend, stretch, squat, stand and other movements to perform job functions and reach in confined spaces.
• Ability to read, comprehend and follow written instructions and company policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
• Coachable and the willingness and ability to learn.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to handle challenging behaviors with patience and empathy.
• Ability to provide compassionate patient care.
• Be available for day or afternoon shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Certificates needed and/or must be obtained upon hire:

• State Approved Caregiver Certification: Must complete caregiver training and acquire certification within 3 to 6 months after hire.
• CPR and First Aid: Current certification required.
• Fingerprint Clearance: A valid Level 1 fingerprint clearance card is mandatory.
• TB Test: Proof of a current negative TB test must be submitted prior to the start date.
