Position Summary: The Assistant Controller plays a vital role in supporting the financial operations of the organization by assisting the Controller in overseeing accounting functions, financial reporting, and compliance. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, while maintaining adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and regulations. The Assistant Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, manage the preparation of financial statements, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and ensure timely and accurate reporting to management. Additionally, the Assistant Controller will collaborate with other departments to support strategic decision-making, identify financial trends, and implement process improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Requirements
Duties & Responsibilities: - Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing and analyzing financial statements (balance sheets, income statement, cash flow statements)
- Accounting Processes: Oversee and manage various accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards and relevant regulations.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Participate in the budgeting process and provide financial analysis for forecasting.
- Internal Controls: Assist in establishing and maintain strong internal controls.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits.
- Cash Management: Support cash management activities.
- Data Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Communication: Communicate financial information and other team members.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve accounting issues.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Experience with Quickbooks is preferred.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of accounting principles.
