- Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of finance / accounting operational experience, which should include minimum 5 years of experience leading key functional areas within a controllership organization.
- Excellent analytical skills, written and oral communication skills, and the ability to collaborate and work effectively with senior management across the business.
- This person will approach the job with a continuous improvement mindset, working to identify, design and implement process improvements to simplify, standardize and streamline enterprise-wide processes.
- Experience working in a large public company; engaging and influencing across multiple functions and authority levels; and actively developing internal networks across the organization.

- Significant SEC reporting experience.
- Holds an active CPA license with strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills.
- Experience implementing accounting systems, key processes and controls.
- Strong understanding of internal controls over financial reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
- Experience leading the evaluation and remediation of identified internal control failures.
- Experience working on M&A diligence and post-transaction integration and/or derecognition activities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and oral): able to communicate complex technical accounting topics in a clear, concise and easy for a layman to understand manner. Able to prepare written material for executive and Board level presentations.
- An ability to drive and influence change across the organization. A key to success in this role will be an ability to develop an internal network of contacts across the wider finance and operational organization.
- Action oriented, approaching the job with a positive attitude while continuously driving positive change in the work environment.
- Prior “Big 4” public accounting firm experience
- Prior government contracting industry experience
- Experience with the Costpoint ERP system is a plus
- Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations and Cost Accounting Standards is desired
Leidos has an immediate opening for Assistant Corporate Controller to join our Corp. Controller team in Reston - VA. This position is one that possesses immense opportunity to be part of a skilled and talented team who are adept at leveraging technology (i.e. automation, bots, dashboards, etc.) in order to meet our missions of providing accurate and actionable external and internal financial reporting data on a timely basis.
Leidos’ Controller’s group is a high-quality, forward leaning accounting and financial reporting organization that governs the preparation and communication of reliable, relevant, and timely financial information in accordance with GAAP, SEC and other applicable guidelines. Beyond statutory and regulatory required financial information, the Controller’s group strives to provide key real-time financial insights to facilitate management and decision-making actions of Leidos’ executive team.
Leidos is one of the largest government contractors in the IT services space with operations across multiple international jurisdictions. Given the scale and complexity of our operations, the Board, Audit & Finance Committee and executive management expect the Controllers group to develop and apply appropriate policies, practices and controls to ensure our financial reporting is free of material misstatement and prevent significant control deficiencies or material weaknesses in internal controls.
The Assistant Corporate Controller plays a key role in carrying out the responsibilities of the Controllers group. You will be directly responsible for all aspects of the Company’s external reporting (both SEC and required statutory filings in international jurisdictions), revenue recognition, consolidations and technical accounting functions. You are expected to manage a team of 4 direct reports and a large indirect team spread out geographically across the United States. You also manage the relationship with Leidos’ independent auditors and partners closely with Internal Audit on both financial and operational audits.
This role will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Controller. As a member of Leidos finance leadership, the VP, Assistant Corporate Controller is expected to be a crucial figure in the overall business planning and partnering on strategic initiatives for the larger finance function. Pay Range:
Pay Range $207,200.00 - $333,000.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
