      Job Title: Assistant Director, Creative Entrepreneurship

      Department: Ratcliffe Center for Creative Entrepreneurship

      Division: Student Affairs

      FLSA Status: Exempt

      Reports to: Director, Creative Entrepreneurship

      Work Schedule: 35 hours/week; 12 months/year

      Grade Level: 7

      Salary Range: $55,000 - $68,000

      Position summary: The position leads the creative commerce initiatives for the Ratcliffe Center for Creative Entrepreneurship (RCCE) by building and expanding avenues of art sales growth for the MICA community.

      General purpose: Provide strategic direction to create and manage sales driven RCCE programs for the MICA community geared towards entering the creative market.

      Major role functions:

      • Act as the primary lead for Art Market(s), MICA’s multi-day public market for students, alumni, faculty & staff, one during the holidays and one during ArtScape

      • Develop art sales programming to include tools and resources for the MICA community

      • Research and develop an online sales platform for MICA students and alumni to sell their products

      • Provide administrative support to RCCE and entrepreneurship faculty and grant based courses, and serve as the RCCE liaison for all pop-up markets in the curriculum

      • Build out and manage an RCCE makerspace for student entrepreneurs

      Position responsibilities:

      • Manage Art Market events from planning, recruitment, implementation and overall operations management

      • Research, develop and launch a MICA art sales ecommerce site

      • Facilitate curricular & co-curricular pop-up vending

      • Create, coordinate and lead professional development experiences for art sales programs and events

      • Conduct art sales entrepreneurship counseling appointments and class workshops

      • Provide logistical support for curricular and co-curricular initiatives for the RCCE and its programs

      • Create and/or administer surveys, e.g., exit survey, advising and program evaluations

      • Utilize Startup Tree platform to gather information and statistics on student/alumni usage of the RCCE, including assessment of services, to assist in office reports

      • Advise and support student run entrepreneurship organization (creative entrepreneurship club)

      • Perform other related duties as assigned

      Required essential skills and experience:

      • Associate's degree and 5 years of administrative experience, or BA degree with one year of administrative experience

      • Industry experience marketing and selling through in-person and online marketplace environments

      • Events management experience preferred

      • Attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to multi-task

      • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication, and organization/planning skills

      • An active commitment to equity in all forms including the ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with people of diverse backgrounds and perspectives

      • Ability to take initiative and work independently while being part of a team

      • Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed, particularly during the UP/Start Venture Program and Art Markets

      • Communicate effectively with both external and internal constituencies

      • Possess effective organizational skills, attention to detail, and an ability to multi-task

      • Value the role of the artist in society, and be eager to learn and share about opportunities for artists

      Valued but not required skills and experience:

      • Computer skills including proficiency in InDesign and the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and databases and web research.

      • Experience in an art and design environment

      • Start-up or entrepreneurial experience.

      • Experience with event planning.

      • Experience working with college students.

      • Supervisory experience.
