What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist the Director of Nurses in planning, organizing, and directing the nursing department's daily functions
- Develop and evaluate methods for coordinating nursing services to ensure continuity of care for residents
- Communicate with physicians, medical directors, and families regarding resident care issues
- Participate in staffing decisions, including recruitment, hiring, and training of nursing personnel
- Assist in the development and implementation of the facility's quality assurance program
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must have completed an RN/LVN program at an accredited vocational school, college, or university
- Current Texas RN/LVN Licensure is required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a skilled nursing facility
- Preferred to possess a current RUG certification
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a team
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in quality assurance programs within a nursing facility
- Additional certifications in nursing management or administration
- Familiarity with MDS assessments and care planning
- Experience in staff training and development
- Strong leadership skills and problem-solving abilities
