      Summary

      The Richard and Sheila Young School of Nursing Online Program is seeking applicants for a full-time Assistant Professor of Nursing position within the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Online Program for the 2025-2026 academic year. Candidates must possess the ability to teach through an online learning platform a broad range of courses from our online nursing program. Primary responsibilities include -teaching DNP students, advising students, course evaluation and development in an online environment, committee work, and service to the department, college and community-at-large. A doctoral degree in nursing or related field (e.g., DNP/PhD/EdD) is required, APRN and/or RN certification and unencumbered nursing licensure in home state and MA is required. Reports to the Associate Dean of Online Nursing and works collaboratively with the Dean of Nursing, Associate and Assistant Deans of Online Nursing, and with the DNP and Graduate Program Directors.

      Essential Functions:

      • Teach online, carrying a workload of 27 units per year (12-month contract).
      • Advise students in the online nursing program.
      • Participate in annual curriculum review and/or revision.
      • Problem-solve and provide oversight in online courses.
      • Maintain ongoing, clear, and consistent communication with students, DNP Program Director, and the Associate and Assistant Deans of Online Nursing and others as necessary.
      • Maintain expertise in online teaching methodologies.
      • Participate in curriculum and/or course development.
      • Maintain active licensure and certification in nursing and advanced practice specialty as appropriate.
      • Participate in DNP Faculty, School of Nursing and college-wide meetings.
      • Engage in service to Regis College per Faculty Handbook guidelines including SON and college-wide committees.


      Other Responsibilities:

      • Other responsibilities as designated by the DNP Program Director, Assistant Dean, Associate Dean and Dean of Nursing.


      Qualifications

      Requirements:

      • Doctoral degree (DNP, PhD, or EdD).
      • Active and unencumbered RN and/or APRN licensure in home state and Massachusetts (or eligible to apply).
      • Teaching Experience: Two or more years of immediate experience in full-time online teaching; Two years of teaching in graduate education or a combination of graduate programs; role/lead faculty, role/and or leadership in an online environment experience preferred.
      • Course Development: Experience with Quality Matters and/or online course development preferred.
      • Technical Expertise: Prior experience with Excel, Word, various learning platforms (i.e., Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, etc.), Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and hosting synchronous online meetings.

      Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

      • Work at a distance, home-based.
      • Normal office environment with privacy possible, not subject to extremes in noise, lighting, etc.
      • May spend extended periods at terminal, on telephone, or operating other office machines requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
