What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Plan, oversee, and execute ongoing laboratory projects related to tick-borne viruses and their interactions
- Conduct research on intra-tick virus infection, dissemination biology, and co-feeding transmission
- Utilize both in vitro and in vivo approaches to model tick-borne virus transmission and pathogenesis
- Lead an additional line of research aligned with the laboratory’s overall research theme
- Facilitate training for graduate students and research technologists in the lab
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Ph.D. in Microbiology, Immunology, or a related field
- Experience working with ticks, animals, and tick-borne pathogens
- Willingness to work in a Biosafety Level-3 laboratory setting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven organizational skills to manage multiple projects effectively
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Demonstrated success in obtaining research funding from intramural or extramural sources
- Experience in conducting interdisciplinary research
- Background in skin immunology related to tick feeding sites
- Familiarity with advanced laboratory techniques and methodologies
