      The qualified candidate will have experience with software development and data analytics. An ideal candidate will have, or be open to gaining, experience witnessing test for integrated hardware systems. These roles are largely team based and are able to work and communicate not only within their team, but cross-team, and to project leadership. The candidate should be comfortable presenting and demonstrating capabilities to both internal leadership and external customers.

      The Software Quality Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
      -Applies quality principles to the development and use of software products
      -Evaluation and assessment of overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process, standards, and contract requirements
      -Evaluates and analyzes software quality systems for deficiency identification and correction
      -Performs software product reviews against contractual, technical and/or process requirements by reviewing requirement specifications, design documents, source code, test plans and procedures, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies
      -Ensure compliance to systems/software processes by witnessing test for software verification and validation

      Candidate must work well in a team environment as this role requires interfacing with systems and software development personnel, test and evaluation personnel, and project managers.

      Desired skills

      -Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
      -Experience with DevSecOps development environments.
      -Experience with a variety of programming languages (i.e java, c/c++, python, linux,etc)
      -Ability to interpret software design and code to verify implementation of requirements
      -Familiarity with a Lean development and Agile software development processes.
      -Experience working in an Agile Development environment, including tools such as JIRA and Confluence
      -Detailed oriented
      -Ability to organize and track multiple activities and
      prioritize task based on importance
      -Ability to review, interpret and apply Drawings and
      Specifications to determine compliance with requirements
      to verify implementation of requirements
      -Effective interpersonal skills, including Team building
      and Collaboration
      -Effective communication skills: Written, Oral, Listening,
      Presentation, Technical Writing
      -Ability to travel (minimal)

      Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

      The base range for this position in New York is $83,125.7 - $139,108.97.
