What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Supervise and collaborate with the Underwriting Manager on all aspects of underwriting to ensure high morale and productivity
- Train and onboard new underwriting associates, familiarizing them with company policies and procedures
- Manage and mentor underwriting staff in risk analysis and compliance with relevant guidelines
- Oversee underwriting file flow, ensuring timely decisions and adherence to quality standards
- Assist in making judgmental underwriting decisions and perform quality control reviews

What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or Equivalent; BA or BS preferred
- Minimum of 8 years in the mortgage industry, including at least 5 years of frontline underwriting experience
- Minimum 1-3 years of supervisory and management experience in the mortgage and lending industry
- 2+ years of experience in mortgage software and proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
- VA Automatic and DE Designation; LAPP SAR designation is required
