What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Consult and advise internal stakeholders and external clients on federal and state health and welfare laws and regulations, including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and COBRA
- Identify compliance issues in the design, operation, and administration of employer health and welfare plans and propose resolutions
- Explain legal concepts and options to clients and consultants in accessible terms
- Track and monitor new laws and regulations that affect health and welfare employee benefits
- Prepare and deliver presentations on legal changes and their implications to clients and internal stakeholders

What is Required (Qualifications):
- 5 to 8 years of legal experience in health and welfare benefits, including knowledge of ERISA, ACA, ADA, HIPAA, and the Internal Revenue Code
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree and law degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law in at least one State or the District of Columbia
- Experience with mental health parity laws is a plus
